Contraction and Relaxation , Structure in Aorta and Blood of Ginseng Radix Aqua - acupuncture in Streptozotocin - Diabetes

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to study the contractile and relaxative responses aorta, morphological defect in endothelial cells in aorta and change of blood from rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes, Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture was injected to the locus of Gwanweon(CV₄) in the case of the human body.
The following results were obtained;
1. In the concentration-response relationship for norepinephrine-induced contraction of thoracic aorta, contraction of Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture proved to be close contraction of normal group, contraction of normal saline aqua-acupunture and Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture on blank locus proved to be close control group.
2. In the concentration-response relationship for acetylcholine-induced relaxation of thoracic aorta, relaxation of Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture proved to be close relaxation of normal group, relaxation of normal saline aqua-acupunture and Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture on blank locus proved to be close control group.
3. In the scanning electron microscoph of aorta endothelial cells, Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture was smooth, flat and less flocculent than control group. appearance of normal saline aqua-acupunture and Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture on blank locus was similiar to contral group, and showed irregular and flocculent in appearance.
4. In the level of blood glucose, Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture turned out to have significant decrease but normal saline aqua-acupunture and Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture on blank locus turned out to have insignificant decrease.
5. In the amount of serum insulin, Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture turned out to have significant increase but normal saline aqua-acupunture and Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture on blank locus turned out to have insignificant increase.
6. In the amount of total cholesterol, Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture and Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture on blank locus turned out to have significant decrease but normal saline aqua-acupunture turned out to have insignificant decrease.
7. In the amount of triglyceride, all of trial groups compared with control group turned out to have insignificant decrease.
On the basis of above results, I arrived at the conclusion that Ginseng radix aqua-acupunture has influence upon contraction, relaxation and structure in aorta and blood in from rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes, so it is expected to a part of the research of complications of diabetes mellitus and diabetes mellitus and useful for clinical treatment.
